Ivan Perisic

Manchester United have been dealt a major blow in their transfer pursuit of Inter Milan winger, Ivan Perisic.

The 28-year-old star has been linked with a move to the Old Trafford since March when Jose Mourinho travelled to Zagreb, Croatia during an international break, sparking reports that the United boss held transfer talks with the player’s agents.

It is understood that Perisic is open to move to Old Trafford after holding talks with Mourinho but Inter have been dragging their feet on the move, asking for a astronomical fee which has stalled the move.

Recent reports have it that Manchester United are confident of landing the Croatian this summer but the Serie A side have moved to dismissed the reports.

Inter Milan director, Piero Ausilio told Sky Italia during an interview: “It’s not going to happen.

“He is training very well with us. We have not considered anything they have offered.”

This comes following reports that Chelsea have finally beaten the Red Devils to the signature of the Tiemoue Bakayoko despite United matching the Blues’s offer for the midfielder.

It is understood that Manchester United might turn to their attention to the signing Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi who is valued at 50 million pounds.
