Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their pursuit for RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita despite the club’s reluctance to sell.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is understood to be keen on landing a midfield maestro this summer as part of plans to better their performances in the Premier League while they also play in the Champions League for the first time in as many years.
The 22-year-old is understood to be open to a move to Anfield despite Leipzig’s position about the transfer move.
Reports in the Mirror claims Liverpool are stepping up their pursuit for Keita although it is still unclear whether they will stump up Leipzig’s asking price of £70 million.
Liverpool have gone quiet since they completed a record signing of Mohamed Salah from Roma , with reports that the Anfield side might return for the signature of Virgil van Dijk after getting sanctioned for their activities around the Southampton centre-back.
However, Jurgen Klopp has revealed that the club might shift their sights from the Dutch defender during a press conference when he said: ‘Am I allowed to talk about this? I am not!’
The Reds have been tipped to make further moves this summer ahead of another hectic season with more games to play despite their silence lately on transfers.
