Liverpool have been dealt a major blow on the injury front ahead of their crucial league game with Wolverhampton Wanderers following the news that Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino will miss the game.

Firmino has missed the last two games as a result of a muscle problem and he will miss a third successive match as the Reds go for the Premier League title with their last game of the season, at home to Wolves.

Without Roberto Firmino, Liverpool striker Divock Origi has stepped up with three goals in his last two games in all competitions.

Origi scored the winning goal for Liverpool in their 3-2 away win over Newcastle United in their penultimate league game of this season before netting a brace for the Merseyside giants who came from three goals down to secure a 4-3 aggregate win over Spanish champions Barcelona.

The news of Firmino’s absence from the Wolves game was confirmed by the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp during his pre-match press conference ahead of the all-important match.

He, however, revealed that star player Mohamed Salah will be involved in the game after suffering a head injury in the Newcastle United game.

The Egyptian star missed the Barcelona comeback on Tuesday night as part of the concussion rule but he was at Anfield to support his teammates.
