Newly appointed Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte is targeting a reunion with former Chelsea defender Gary Cahill ahead of the new season billed to start in two months time.

The Inter Milan interest in Gary Cahill was revealed by Sports Mediaset.

Antonio Conte was appointed the Inter Milan manager this summer after putting pen to paper on a three-year deal.

It’s his first managerial job since his sack at Chelsea last year.

During his time at Chelsea, Conte worked with Gary Cahill who was an important first-team player for the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Gary Cahill was a prominent figure for Antonio Conte and his five-man defence at Chelsea.

The England international centre back won the Premier League title with Italian tactician Conte during the 2016/17 season before winning the 2017/18 FA Cup title under the guidance of the former Juventus manager.

Gary Cahill was frozen out of the Chelsea team by Maurizio Sarri after the sack of Antonio Conte in 2018.

The player was at Chelsea between the winter transfer window in 2012 and this summer when his Blues contract came to an end.

Apart from Gary Cahill, Antonio Conte and Inter Milan have been linked with other Premier League stars like Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku and Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka.
