Liverpool Target Joins Real Madrid In €60m Deal

Spanish giants Real Madrid have signed Serbian international striker Luka Jovic from German club Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of the new season.

Real Madrid have splashed the sum of €60m on the former Benfica player who has signed a six-year contract until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Luka Jovic was linked with several clubs including newly crowned European champions Liverpool before Real Madrid won the race to sign him.

Other clubs like Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Barcelona were also linked with the 21-year-old striker before Real Madrid won the race to sign him.

Luka Jovic was in superb form for Eintracht Frankfurt during the just concluded campaign having joined the German Bundesliga outfit from Benfica.

The Serbian player initially joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica on a two-year loan deal in 2017 before the move was made permanent for €8m a few weeks back.

Luka Jovic proved himself to be a quality striker during the just concluded season after scoring 27 goals in all competitions in the colours of Eintracht Frankfurt.

He scored 17 goals in the German Bundesliga to finish the joint third topscorer in the league behind Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski and Borussia Dortmund star Paco Alcacer.

Jovic also scored 10 goals in the Europa League as Eintracht Frankfurt reached the semifinals before they were eliminated by eventual winners Chelsea.
