“I would love to play in the Premier League” – Chelsea handed major boost in pursuit of experienced striker

Argentine international striker Gonzalo Higuain has fuelled rumour of a possible transfer to Stamford Bridge after claiming he would love to play in the Premier League.

Higuain could quit Juventus

The experienced forward is facing an uncertain Juventus future amid speculation of a potential departure this summer transfer window.

Gonzalo Higuain has won back-to-back Scudettos with Juventus following his huge-money transfer to the Serie A Champions from their rivals Napoli back in 2016.

The forward netted 16 goals and created six assists in 36 matches in their title-winning season under Italian manager Massimiliano Allegri.

Chelsea seek attacking reinforcement

The Blues are in the transfer market for potential attacking options next term following Spain international striker Alvaro Morata’s tough debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.

Ironically, the Spaniard has been heavily linked with a possible return to Turin to prompt some speculation of a swap transfer deal involving Higuain and Morata.

And the Juventus forward fanned the rumour linking the World Cup-bound striker with a transfer to the English Premier League in a recent interview with ESPN last Thursday.

Question about speculated interest from the Premier League, the striker is cited as saying he has a contract with the Old Lady and no one has spoken anything different.

He, however, claimed he would love to ply his trade in the English Premier League at some point in his career.
