Eder Militao

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp continues to face injury crisis as another defender joins his team’s injury list.

Alexander-Anold has joined the Reds list of injured players and he’s expected to be sidelined for one month.

Dejan Lovren, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip have been on the sidelines for some weeks due to injury, the England youngster has further added to Klopp’s worries.

Reacting to the unfortunate happenings at Anfield, highly regarded journalist Duncan Castles lament the Reds are very unfortunate to lose such important player at this critical stage of the season.

Castle, who works with the Daily Record, suggests Klopp have no option but to move for one defender who will cover up for the youngster or other defenders who are already in the recuperating room.

According to him, the Merseyside club aren’t set to be actively involved in the ongoing market considering their heavy spendings in summer but they will need to sign one ‘cheap’ player this month.

“Liverpool don’t want to spend heavily on the signing and are said to be looking at a cheap and reliable individual who they can take on loan, as a free transfer or for a small fee,” he said in his writeup.

Meanwhile, Fabinho was deployed at the heart of the defense alongside Virgil Van Dijk in their win against Brighton last weekend and the Brazilian performed brilliantly. He made two brilliant blocks to prevent Pascal Gross from scoring and he was rated as one of the best players of the night.

Klopp could repeat the same tactical approach against Crystal Palace on Saturday but there’s a major doubt over Van Dijk’s fitness.

Many European rumor mongers have linked the German tactician with a move for Brazilian defender Eder Militao who plays for Porto.

The Reds are in interested in the Militao’s services just as Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea. He has a £42.5million exit clause in his contract with the Portuguese side but the desperate Anfield outfits are willing to trigger the release clause next week.
