According to reports making the rounds in the British media, Premier League Champions Chelsea are considering tabling an offer for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud in the January window.
Conte eye Giroud
The Daily Mirror is claiming that Chelsea are weighing up a bid to try and lure the France international striker away from Arsenal and join their City rivals.
The FIFA Award winner has found his first-team action limited this campaign, with the 31-year-old forward having only started one of the Gunners 24 League matches so far this season.
Chelsea considering several options
The same publication claim the Arsenal striker is among the clubs several options as the reigning League champions look to reinforce their attacking line in the winter transfer window.
The report says that the Blues have tried the possibility of trying to land Olivier Giroud this January as Antonio Conte looks for a new striker up front.
Chelsea’s turbulent season
Meanwhile, the Italian tactician is currently preparing his side for their fourth-round Emirates FA Cup encounter against Premier League side Newcastle United at the Bridge on Sunday.
Chelsea are aiming to return to winning ways after the setback of being knocked out of the Carabao Cup by bitter rivals Arsenal.
