Lyon star player Nabil Fekir has been heavily linked with a move away to Liverpool in recent times, and many fans are already delighted with the thoughts of seeing the Frenchman play at Anfield next season.
Unfortunately, the French club have confirmed the player will stay with them next term and will not join Jurgen Klopp at Merseyside this summer.
Lyon released a statement a few hours ago that confirmed Nabil actually wanted to move to Anfield, but the deal is off after they put an ‘end to negotiations’ with the premier league side
On Saturday, It was widely speculated that officials from Merseyside travelled to France to conduct a medical for the player at a local hospital in Paris and that they chose to ignore his knee issues to give him a pass.
It was also made known that Liverpool tried persuading the Ligue 1 club to sell the player for less due to the issue, but the French side have decided to cancel te deal.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been trying to sign a replacement for Philippe Coutinho who joined Barcelona in January and was hoping to see Fekir take the Brazilian’s place at Anfield. However, the German will need to move on and search elsewhere!
Fekir was impressive at Lyon last season and was able to attract attention from the likes of Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich also.
