Premier League leaders Liverpool have stepped up their interest in highly rated French defender Jean-Clair Todibo after the injury to one of their defenders.
Jean-Clair Todibo plays for French Ligue 1 side Toulouse at the moment.
He emerged as a transfer target for Liverpool and other clubs after his impressive outings for his Toulouse side this season.
Todibo could be a temporary replacement for the injured Liverpool defender Joe Gomez.
The Reds were dealt a huge blow in midweek following the news that the England international player would be out of action for six weeks as a result of the leg fracture that he suffered following the tackle from Burnley defender Ben Mee.
Burnley took a first-half lead but the Reds scored three second-half goals to win the game 3-1.
Joe Gomez is not expected back until at least New Year and the Reds are already looking at ways to offset the loss.
Liverpool have previously been linked with Todibo who has earned rave reviews for his performances this season.
He was drafted into the Toulouse at the start of the season as a replacement for former team captain Issa Diop who joined West Ham United in the summer.
