Five-time European champions Liverpool have received a transfer blow following the news that one of their transfer targets has been included in his club’s Champions League squad despite the fact that he has been frozen out of the team.
The Reds are one of the teams eyeing a free transfer move for Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer.
Apart from Liverpool, major European sides like Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona as well as the North London duo of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Barcelona were heavy favourites to sign him but the Catalans have not been able to agree on a deal for him.
Adrien Rabiot has less than six months on his present PSG contract and he has already told club officials that he won’t sign a new deal at Parc des Princes.
His contract stance led to him being frozen out of the first team as confirmed by sporting director Antero Henrique.
Adrien Rabiot’s last appearance in a PSG shirt came on the 11th of December when the French giants traveled to face Serbian side Red Star Belgrade in a UEFA Champions League (UCL) game.
The 23-year-old was an 83rd-minute substitute as PSG secured top spot ahead of Liverpool in Group C.
