Liverpool star player Alberto Moreno is currently out with an injury and hasn’t been able to feature for his side in their recent games.
Summer signing Andy Robertson is back in the starting XI at Anfield, and he has been impressive too.
However, it appears manager Jurgen Klopp is keen on adding more strength to the left back position by signing a new left-back for Liverpool, and Alex Grimaldo has been linked with a move to Anfield in recent times.
According to latest reports, the Merseyside club are interested in signing Alex from Benfica despite having a €60 Million release clause in his contract at the club.
Grimaldo has been impressive at Benfica in recent seasons, and his superb performances at the club have caught Liverpool’s attention. The Anfield club are said to have been tracking the player for several months, and are keeping close tabs on him.
It was also added that the Portuguese club won’t mind accepting €30 Million for the Spaniard instead of the full €60 Million release clause in his contract.
Grimaldo, a first-team regular at Benfica, has played all 18 for the Portuguese heavyweights this season so far and has provided four assists to his teammates.
Should Jurgen Klopp sign another left back?
