As per ESPN FC football reporter Gabriele Marcotti, Merseyside giants Liverpool and Roma are miles apart in their valuation of Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
Liverpool set to replace fumbling goalie
Liverpool lost 3-1 to Spanish La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final last month in Kiev after first-choice goalkeeper Loris Karius made two costly huge error.
The goalkeeper mistakenly passed the ball to France international striker Karim Benzema to allow the Real Madrid striker to break the deadlock.
Loris Karius parried Wales international forward Gareth Bale’s long-range effort into his own goal to seal Real’s 13th UEFA Champions League crown.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a switch to land the Brazil international goalkeeper from Serie A side Roma to strengthen their goalkeeping department.
The Roma goalie is rated as one of Europe’s best goalkeepers but the Reds could face stiff competition from UEFA Champions League holders Real Madrid.
Roma goalie not leaving
The Roma shot-stopper will be Brazil’s first choice goalkeeper at the FIFA World Cup ahead of their opening fixture against Switzerland.
ESPN FC football reporter Marcotti feels the Merseysider’s aren’t even close to landing the South American safe hand in the summer window.
Liverpool haven’t won the English Premier League crown but finished second in the 2002, 2009 & 2014 league seasons.
