Jose Mourinho delighted as Chelsea failed to agree deal with Leon Bailey

According to reports, Chelsea have failed with a £22million offer for Bayer Leverkusen star Leon Bailey as they seek a potential replacement for Eden Hazard who is a target of Real Madrid.

The Daily Mail suggest Chelsea have seen a bid for the Jamaican ‘rebuffed’ by the German Bundesliga side, who are not interested in selling at the moment.

He joined Bayern Leverkusen midway through last campaign after performing so well at Genk, with the Mail suggesting the Blues have long been closely watching his progress.

Premier League duo of Liverpool and Manchester United are also named in the report as possible suitors for the 20-year-old starlet, and United, in particular, could be glad to hear of the Blues struggles to sign him.

Jose Mourinho’s men were lacking in skill and spark up front last weekend in loss to local rivals Manchester City, and could enjoy from a signing like Leon Bailey to give them much more in the ttack.

Belgium international forward Romelu Lukaku has been without a goal, and needs more assistance after looking isolated against Pep’s team on Sunday.

The Premier League Champions, meanwhile, may be fearing for Eden Hazard’s Chelsea future with latest claims from Don Balon stating French tactician Zinedine Zidane is urging Spanish giant Real Madrid to move for the Belgian next summer.
