Deal Close! Italian Giants keen to Sign Chelsea Star On Free Transfer

Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly interested in a move for veteran Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

According to various media reports in Italy, the Nerazzurri want to sign the Spanish international star when his current contract with the Blues expires at the end of this season.

Cesc Fabregas has less than one year on his Blues contract and the West Londoners are unlikely to extend his contract beyond the current campaign.

The 31-year-old can begin negotiations with foreign clubs about a potential free transfer move in the New Year.

Former Arsenal skipper Fabregas has been on the fringes of the first team since Maurizio Sarri became the Chelsea boss in the summer.

The 59-year-old replaced compatriot Antonio Conte after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract.

Conte had earlier lost his job as the Blues manager after an underwhelming outing in the last campaign.

He was sacked with one year left on his £9m-per-annum contract.

His Chelsea side finished the season in the fifth spot and outside the Champions League positions.

The 2018 FA Cup title triumph, made possible by the 1-0 win over rivals Manchester United in their final meeting in the summer, was not enough to save his Chelsea managerial career.
