“He’s a better version of Fellaini” Unai Emery told to sign 29-year-old instead

Former Liverpool star Steve Nicol feels North London giants Arsenal should secure the signature of Steven N’Zonzi instead of Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini

Arsenal linked with summer move for Fellaini

The Premier League giants have been heavily linked with a swoop to land the Belgium international midfielder from Old Trafford this summer transfer window.

The Man United star will become a free agent this summer window after failing to agree to a fresh deal with Jose Mourinho’s team.

The midfielder has been a very useful player under head coach Jose Mourinho at the club.

However, the Belgian wants a major upgrade on their £80,000-weekly contract at Old Trafford, which could be a major problem.

The Gunners turned to Spaniard Unai Emery in May to replace former boss Arsene Wenger after the French tactician stood down after 22 years in charge at the Emirates Stadium.

N’Zozi also linked

Arsenal have also been strongly linked with Steven N’Zonzi in the recent windows, while Unai Emery worked with the midfielder at la Liga side Sevilla.

The Liverpool legend urged the North Londoners to consider a transfer for N’Zonsi instead of Belgium star Fellaini.

Nicol told ESPN FC he feels  N’Zonzi is a better upgrade of the Manchester United defensive midfielder

The Red Devils lost 1-0 to former Premier League champions Chelsea in the Emirates FA Cup final last month at Wembley Stadium following Belgium playmaker Eden Hazard’s winning goal from the spot.
