Petr Cech

Former Arsenal player Paul Merson is of the opinion that the North London club have already secured a replacement for goalkeeper Petr Cech with the signing of Bernd Leno in the last summer transfer window.

Leno joined the North London side in the last summer transfer window from German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen and has since settled in to become the favourite.

Leno was lucky to have seen his full straight game in the English Premier League with the injury of the former Chelsea keeper and has since cemented his place in the heart of the Gunners boss Unai Emery.

Gunners legend is of the opinion that his former side need not to worry about the performance and age of Petr Cech as he opines that there is already a replacement who is having an outstanding performance at the club.

According to him, Leno has been able to make good saves so far and most importantly, he looks like the player who has got the positive temperament to succeed as a goalkeeper.

Wright stated that Leno always gets his side out of danger and does not gamble in the post to cause upsets.

However, reports reveal that the former Chelsea keeper is no longer Unai Emery’s first choice at Arsenal and has been overtaken by Leno.
