North London giants Tottenham Hotspur are pondering a loan move for Liverpool striker Divock Origi according to various reports emanating from the British media.

According to The Sun, Tottenham want to sign the Belgian international star as a temporary replacement for the injured Harry Kane.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been ruled out of action for the next six weeks after sustaining a serious ankle injury.

Spurs confirmed that Harry Kane suffered ankle ligaments damage during the game against top four rivals Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

The club revealed that the England international skipper is not expected to return to training until the first week of March.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be ready to release Divock Origi to fellow title challengers Tottenham Hotspur for the remainder of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur fell further adrift in the race for the league title when they were beaten 1-0 at home by the Red Devils.

The defeat ensured that Spurs are now nine points off Premier League pacesetters Liverpool.

Divock Origi has been on the fringes of the Liverpool team since he returned to the club this summer from a loan spell at German club VFL Wolfsburg last season.
