According to reports circulating recently in the English media, Jose Mourinho is confident Eric Bailly will be back in time for Manchester United’s Champions League game against Sevilla.

The African defender was operated on his ankle before the new year after he picked up a knock while playing for his country.

The 23-year-old is yet to play a single game for Man United since last November, but he is getting better and should be back to full fitness soon.

Manchester United will play against Sevilla on the 21st of next month in the Champions League, and there are speculations Eric will be fine to participate in the game.

Immediately after the clash with the La Liga side, the red devils will play against defending champions Chelsea at Old Trafford, and the Ivory Coast international will likely play for his side in the premier league game.

Bailly is one of the best defenders in the premier league, and his presence in the game against Chelsea will make things more difficult for Antonio Conte’s side – who are currently struggling for consistency.

As things stands now, Manchester United are 12 points behind league leaders Manchester City, while Chelsea are still sitting on the third spot of the premier league table.
