Gary Cahill could remain at Chelsea despite threats

Chelsea FC center back defender and England star, Gary Cahill some few weeks ago had made a threatening statement about leaving the club in January if he doesn’t get enough playing chances.

Prior to the arrival of new Chelsea coach, Maurizio Sarri, the centre back defender was a key player in the Blues squad under coach Antonio Conte.

Coach Antonio Conte prefers to start Gary Cahill at the back over Brazil star, David Luiz.

But since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri as manager of the Blues squad, Gary Cahill has been left out of the Blues first team squad with Sarri preferring to start the duo David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger at the centre back.

This made the ace back defender disclosed he would leave in January.

However, a new report has suggested that Gary Cahill may no longer leave Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

According to The Sun report, Cahill will “consider a U-turn” and instead will wait until the end of the season when his current contract lapses after which he would assess his options.

Football clubs in the English Premier League have already shown interest in the top defender, they include, Man Utd, Aston Villa, Southampton, Watford and Sheffield.
