Thierry Henry Thinks This Chelsea star Should Win Player Of The Year (not even Eden Hazard)
Former Arsenal captain Thierry Henry is of the opinion that N’Golo Kante should be the PFA player of the year following his brilliant performances for Chelsea.
The former Arsenal man thinks that N’Golo Kante should be the leading contender to win the PFA player of the year award this term – ahead of the duo of Eden Hazard and Diego Costa.
The Frenchman has been in nice form for the blues this season and has earned lots of praise for his performances since arriving from Leicester in last year’s summer transfer window.
The midfielder earned lots of new admirers for his superb displays for Leicester City last term as he helped the Foxes win the Premier League title.
Kante has continued his fine form for the west London club this season and has been a regular fixture in Conte’s first team to help Chelsea build a nine-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
And Thierry Henry thinks that his compatriot has been Chelsea’s standout player so far this season, ahead of the duo of Costa and Hazard.
Henry told The Sun that though it is both Eden Hazard and Diego Costa that will be on the tip of a lot people’s pens, but so too should N’Golo.
“It is never usually his type of player who wins these awards.
“People pay to see Costa rattle them home or Hazard score goals like he did against Arsenal.
“Usually your Kante-type player goes relatively unnoticed. They are only missed when they’re not there.
“But Kante is so special, you do notice him. It’s an art to sense danger, to tackle, to intercept.”
The Blues are now 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League table after their 1-1 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor last Sunday.
