Arsenal could be without Wales international Aaron Ramsey for the League Cup final.
Jesus could return
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has disclosed that Brazil international striker Gabriel Jesus is close to a return from injury for the League Cup final against North London giants Arsenal later in the month.
The forward, who has netted 10 goals in all competitions so far this campaign, has been ruled out of action since sustaining a severe knee injury in the barren draw at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Eve.
Superb deputy
In Jesus’ absence, Argentine star Sergio Aguero has been in superb form to help Manchester City extend their lead at the apex of the League table to 16 points and manager Pep Guardiola will be gunning for his first silverware on English soil this month at Wembley.
Talking to newsmen on Friday ahead of his side’s Emirates FA Cup fifth round clash against Wigan – conquerors of Premier League side West Ham United – the former Barcelona boss gave a positive injury fitness update ahead of the League cup final against Arsenal.
Whilst City are slowly returning to full strength, the same can’t be said about Arsenal as they could be missing a key member of the squad – Aaron Ramsey, on the 25th of February.
