Manchester City have an earlier game this weekend with a relatively easy fixture at Fulham and a win for the Citizens will take them above Liverpool ahead of the Reds’ meeting with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening.
Ahead of the Spurs game, two long-term injury absentees namely Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have returned to training to boost Liverpool in their assault on both the Premier League and the Champions League.
Joe Gomez played 12 league games before suffering a leg fracture against Burnley while Oxlade-Chamberlain has not played since suffering a serious knee injury in April 2018.
