Finally, Abramovich has opened transfer discussions to get £33million player’s deal done

According to Italian media reports, Chelsea have begun talks to land defender Kostas Manolas from Serie A side AS Roma in a £33m transfer deal.

Chelsea want Greek star
Renowned Italian football journalist Alfredo Pedulla, as cited by the Daily Star, is claiming that Chelsea are interested in signing the Greece international defender as they attempt to assemble a team good enough to win the English Premier League title next term.

The same article stated that the 27-year-old defender has been on the radar of Chelsea for some period now and he could eventually sign for the Blues this summer.

The report suggests that the West London club have already begun talks with the player’s agent about a summer move to Stamford Bridge.

Reinforcement required
They are thought to be in the transfer market for a number of new recruits despite the uncertainty surrounding manager Antonio Conte’s Chelsea future.

The former Italy and Juventus head coach is generally expected to depart the West London outfit after two campaigns in charge of the club, but an official announcement has not been about his Chelsea future.

The former Premier League champions finished in the fifth position in the English Premier League log the last term and won the Emirates FA Cup all thanks to Belgium international Eden Hazard’s winner from the spot in the 1-0 win over Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in the May final.
