English Championship side Aston Villa are reportedly interested in securing the permanent signing of Sam Johnstone from Manchester United, but it remains to be seen if a move can be agreed.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper has benefited from regular football with the Championship giants, as Sam has continued to improve and develop his goalkeeping skills and confidence, keeping five clean sheets for the Villa so far this League season.
He returned this past summer, having spent a few months with Aston Villa last year, and could be seemingly ready to secure a permanent transfer to join Steve Bruce’s team.
As per the Manchester Evening News, Villa boss Steve Bruce hopes that he can convince both his parent club and manager Jose Mourinho to permit him to sign the safe hand permanently, and he could be assisted by the fact that the goalkeeper’s current contract expires next summer.
In turn, the Red Devils will be willing to convince the goalie to sign a new contract even if it is just to stop seeing him leave Old Trafford for nothing, but it seems as though the Championship side will make their life tough as Bruce plans to launch an offer and try to convince both player and club that the best solution is to see the goalie move to the Villa park.
