Solskjaer and Neville clash over David De Gea’s performance

Manchester United interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the club’s former player Gary Neville are reported to have clashed over the performance of David De Gea in the Premier League tie against Arsenal on Sunday.

The Red Devils fell to the Gunners by 2-0 which makes it their first defeat in the Premier League under the interim manager to add to the fact that they have lost out of the top four.

Granit Xhaka’s strike could not be stopped by the Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea and the club legend Gary Neville holds the opinion that the former Atletico Madrid stopper might be distracted by the contract issues he has with the club which is yet to be settled.

The suggestion has been refuted by the Red Devils interim manager who claims the player is focused and concentrated on playing for the club. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made it clear that David De Gea is too professional to be distracted by such.

However, David De Gea is yet to agree on a deal with the club as his current deal expires in the coming summer window. He is reported to be ready to hold talks with the club and could be offered £350,000-a-week.
