Arsenal have told their fans all over the world to remember the current political situation between the United Kingdom and the Russian Government in their mind ahead of next month’s trip to Russia’s CSKA Moscow.
The Europa League quarterfinal draw was made yesterday and one of the draws saw Arsene Wenger’s men paired against CSKA Moscow.
Though the first leg will take place at the Emirates stadium, Arsenal hierarchy have immediately given out warnings to fans who could travel to Russia for the second leg of the fixture in April, reminding them of the unhealthy political relationship between both countries.
There have been tensions between the two countries since the poisoning of former spy in England and Arsenal have advised their fans through their official website to remain calm during the return leg irrespective of treatment they might receive from the home fans.
According to Arsenal’s board via their official page, fans are
“advised to remain vigilant, avoid any protests or demonstrations and avoid commenting publicly on political developments”.
They assured there won’t be hitch or difficulties during their stay in the country.
Arsene Wenger will hope his team continue with their recent form which has seen them emerged victorious in three back-to-back matches including their 3-1 home victory over AC Milan Last Thursday.
Arsenal who are on the verge of missing out on next season’s Champions League competition won’t be in action at the weekend having crashed out of FA Cup competition after their shocking 4-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest in January.
