Chelsea’s Belgian star Eden Hazard was named the Player of the Year by the Blues fans following his impressive performances that saw them emerge as Premier League champions.
He has enjoyed a superb season at the west London club, scoring 17 times in 43 matches to help Antonio Conte’s side win the title.
The Belgium international has seen his team-mate at Chelsea N’Golo Kante beating him to various awards this term. He was however recognised for his efforts at the yearly awards night, last Sunday.
However, Chelsea fans are still concerned about the possibilities of the talented player quitting Stamford Bridge this summer. The winger has been repeatedly linked with a move to La Liga side Real Madrid over the past few years. Recently, it was reported that Madrid French boss Zinedine Zidane is planning a summer swoop for the Belgian.
However, Hazard has confirmed he would be staying at the club this summer despite Real Madrid’s interests.
After receiving his Player of the Year award on Sunday, he was asked whether he will be staying at Chelsea, and his reply was: ‘Yeah, why not?!’
Apart from Hazard, another Chelsea player Real Madrid is said to be interested in is Thibaut Courtois. However, it appears the Belgian goalie is also staying put in London and intend representing the Blues in the Champions League next season.
