AS Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar is reportedly pushing for a summer move to Arsenal, after his representatives holds talks with the Ligue 1 outfit.

The Frenchman has been linked with a move to the Emirates as Arsene Wenger continues to bolster his ranks after bringing in Sead Kolasinac and record signing, Alexandre Lacazette

The 21-year-old was an integral part of the Monaco side that shocked everyone with their performances last season in the French Ligue 1 and Champions League, netting 14 goals and 14 assists and has drawn interest from a couple of clubs in Europe with the likes of Juventus and Chelsea both credited with interest in the player but the Gunners remain frontrunners in the deal.

Reports in the Daily Mirror claim that Lemar has told Monaco that he wants to leave the club in favour a move to the Emirates and has instructed his representatives to force through a move despite the French champions’ reluctance to allow him to leave this summer.

It is understood Arsenal are prepared to offer Lemar a £100,000 per week deal to move to the North London this summer on a five-year deal, with reports that Wenger has told the club to pay up to £45 million for the transfer.

However, Monaco remains adamant on not allowing the midfielder leave this summer and are trying to price Arsenal out of the deal with an astronomical £80 million transfer asking price.
