Liverpool star player Emre Can is expected to join up with the rest of Jurgen Klopp’s squad this weekend after he was given an extended break due to his participation in the Confederations Cup in Russia earlier this summer.
The midfielder was part of the Germany squad that won the Confederations Cup and is ready to join the rest of his teammates at Liverpool this weekend.
And the Anfield club may hope his return will allow contract negotiations to recommence as the 23-year-old has only 12 months left on his current contract with Liverpool and no reasonable progress over a new deal is yet in sight.
And Can has emerged as a target for a handful of top clubs across Europe, including Serie A champions Juventus, with The Liverpool Echo attributing the interests to the lack of progression in negotiations at Anfield.
However, the reds showed glaringly that they have no interest in selling the Germany international as Klopp is determined to build a squad that can challenge the title next season.
Jurgen Klopp already sealed the signings of Dominic Solanke and Mohamed Salah this summer, and is close to completing a deal for Hull City left-back Andrew Robertson.
However, it appears a deal for one of his major summer targets – Naby Keita, won’t become a reality anytime soon, and an alternative is being looked at.
