Deal almost done! Chelsea close to signing star player – Sky Sports

As per Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, Chelsea are close to completing a January deal for AS Roma forward Edin Dzeko.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina striker has become a shock target for the defending English Premier League champions this winter.

The Blues have been strongly linked with a number of different forwards this month as manager Antonio Conte looks to reinforce his attack ahead of the new season.

However, the Blues’ quest to find a forward with proven English Premier League experience has led the team to 31-year-old Roma forward Dzeko.

Sky Sports News football reporter Kaveh Solhekol confirmed that the Blues are close to completing a £30million deal to land the former Manchester City forward before the winter transfer window closes.

The Blues will take on Spanish La Liga giants FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League next round in a month time but the striker would be match tied for the European encounter.

The Reigning Premier League are five points ahead of fifth-placed North London side Tottenham Hotspur in the race to seal a UEFA Champions League place in the top four.
