According to reports emanating from Germany, Arsenal are preparing a swap deal including striker Olivier Giroud to seal the signature of forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from German side Borussia Dortmund this transfer window.
German publication Kicker, as cited by Metro, is stating that Arsenal are set to offload France striker Giroud as a part of their swap deal to sign the 28-year-old this window.
The same report claims that after “several hours” of transfer negotiations, the Gunners and Borussia Dortmund are still yet to agree on a fee for Aubameyang as Arsenal aim to make sure the deal is sealed.
It is suggested that the Gunners have submitted an offer of about £44million, but that the German side want a transfer fee closer to £60million for the Gabonese.
The story suggests that Arsenal’s second bid for the African will be £52million including Giroud, with the France international striker joining the Bundesliga outfit on a loan deal until the conclusion of the current season.
The article also states that the Arsenal striker will be open to the transfer as he seeks regular football actions ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Meanwhile, the Gunners will on Wednesday night take on Chelsea in their second leg Carabao Cup semi-final at The Emirates Stadium
