Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri could leave the club at the end of this season for a return to Italy according to the publication from popular English news outlet London Evening Standard.
Sarri left Italian Serie A club Napoli for Chelsea last summer but he has not been able to convince the Blues fans that he’s the man for the job for the long haul.
Chelsea have struggled under Sarri at times especially away from home in the Premier League.
Sarri and Chelsea didn’t pick any point away from home vs the top six teams this season until the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United.
They had lost to Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool before the draw against Manchester United.
The draw maintained the Blues’ spot in the top four of the Premier League which will guarantee a spot in the Champions League for next season.
There have been doubts over Sarri’s position as the Chelsea manager this season and it’s still uncertain whether he will stay at Stamford Bridge beyond this season.
He was previously touted as a possible manager for AS Roma who are looking to appoint him as their permanent manager this summer.
The latest development concerns the managerial role at AC Milan with current recipient Gennaro Gattuso under pressure to keep his job.
