According to reports, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has commenced negotiations with the Red Devils over a new contract, but both parties are in a rush to agree on a deal.
During an explosive interview with French TV station TF1, Jose admitted he would not end his career at the club, despite initial claims he could remain at the club for 15 years.
Mourinho pointed out that he believes it is now “impossible” to stay at a club for as long as the likes of former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson and current Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
The former Chelsea boss also insisted he was 100% committed to the side he joined back in the summer of 2016, rubbishing claims he could depart the club for big-spending Paris Saint Germain.
Jose’s current contract expires in 2019, although it has a clause of keeping him at Old Trafford until at least 2020 and ahead of the Benfica game last night, the 54-year-old seemingly hinted he was keen to extend his deal.
The Red Devils on Wednesday night secured their third victory in as many matches in the UEFA Champions League this campaign, as they defeated Benfica 1-0, thanks to a Marcus Rashford lone goal. The result means Jose’s men lead Group A, with three points.
