According to media reports, North London giants Arsenal are interested in a cut-price deal to land Jonny Evans from relegated West Bromwich Albion this summer transfer window.
Arsenal want experience defender
The Daily Mirror is claiming that Arsenal are keen to bring in two new centre-half’s this summer transfer window as they look to significantly strengthen their team ahead of next term.
The same article says that Arsenal want to bring in Borussia Dortmund Central defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos and have also held discussions about signing Freiburg star Caglar Soyuncu.
Now, it is also being suggested that the Emirates giant could move to land ex-Manchester United defender Jonny Evans for £3million after West Brom were relegated from the English Premier League.
Failed winter move to Emirates Stadium
The defender was heavily linked with a swoop to North London in the winter transfer window but a move failed to happen for the Northern Irishman.
Evans, 30, netted two goals and created two assists in 28 English Premier League matches for the Baggies last term but was unable to stop them from finishing bottom of the log.
The Gunners are likely to be connected with a move for a host of key players in the coming weeks as they attempt to assemble a squad who can challenge for the Premier League title next season.
