Thibaut Courtois

Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid are considering making a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as they look to strengthen their options in the goalkeeping department in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Cope, the UEFA Champions League winners have already agreed on a move for Athletico Bilbao safe hand Kepa when the winter transfer market opens.

Notwithstanding, the Bernabeu giants are still pushing for a transfer for the Belgium international shot-stopper in the nearest future.

Whilst the move for Kepa is almost sealed, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez’s primary objective remains to bring in the English Premier League star to the team at the end of the campaign.

The Chelsea safe hand’s deal at the West London club expires in the summer of 2019 and he is interested in having his long-term future at the club sorted out sooner rather than later, but the ex Atletico Madrid loanee has often said that he intended to one day return to Madrid.

Real Madrid’s current first-choice goalkeeper Keylor Navas along with his deputy Kiko Casilla have both been strongly connected with moves away from the Santiago Bernabeu recently, with Casilla interesting a couple of English Premier League teams including Newcastle United.
