Mesut Ozil will be out of contract at Arsenal next summer and he is yet to extend his stay at the club by signing a new deal.
The Germany international has been in the news recently and the latest reports in the media are intriguing.
The Sun made it known that the gunners are working hard towards agreeing on a new deal for Mesut, and it was added that something is going to happen soon.
It was however added that if the North London club fail to reach an agreement with the former Real Madrid player, then they will try to sell him in the upcoming January transfer window instead of losing him for nothing next summer.
Ozil has made 12 appearances this season so far for Arsenal and has scored two times with five assists.
Earlier this week, there are reports that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is ready to make a move for the 29-year-old next year.
In November, it was made known that Arsene Wenger’s side will demand a fee in the region of £30M for the player if they will let him leave.
The World Cup winner will be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January if he failed to put pen on paper for a new deal before the end of this year.
