Arsenal set to do battle with Europe’s finest clubs for £35m star

According to reports, Arsenal face stiff competition in their pursuit of Nice star, Jean Michael Seri.

Seri is reportedly being chased by Barcelona, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, with the winter transfer window moving closer.

Seri, 26, was linked with a transfer to the English Premier League last summer and his current club Ligue 1 side Nice even supposedly rejected a £35.2million offer from Catalan side FC Barcelona as well.

However, a number of European clubs are allegedly ready to swoop again in the New Year.

The versatile midfielder has just 18 months remaining on his current contract with the French side and it now seems as if he’s going to sign on a new deal seeing as he publicly confirmed that he wanted to return in August.

This current league campaign, Jean Michael Seri’s played 17 matches in all competitions, netting just once and making four assists. However, for a player the French club were so keen on keeping, the Ivorian international has really found it hard to start games, only playing nine matches so far in the French Ligue 1.

Arsenal’s January transfer activity depends on whether Germany international midfielder Mesut Ozil signs a new contract, as is currently being claimed, or not.
