Cesc Fabregas assists

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has now recorded 10 assists or more in six seasons.

The Spanish star has just made a mark nobody else has previously managed!
The former Arsenal captain broke a Premier League record after the assist he provided in Chelsea’s victory over Middlesbrough on Sunday afternoon at Stamford Bridge.

He teed up with teammate Nemanja Matic in the second half as they added their third goal in the 3-0 win over relegation-bound Boro, and reached a mark that have never been achieved before in the English premier league.

The former Barcelona man has now recorded 10 assists in the 2016-17 season – the sixth term in which he has done double figures.

Before the Middlesbrough game, he was sharing the record with the Man United hero duo of Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs. They both have provided ten assists or more in five seasons at Old Trafford.

Fabregas keeps struggling for playing time under new Italian boss Antonio Conte this season. But despite the fact that he isn’t getting regular playing time, he was usually impressive whenever he was being called upon and given a chance by the Italian manager – either when included in the lineup or when he has come off the bench.

Chelsea are set to win the premier league title and will be confirmed champions if they can win West Brom later this week.
