Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that the club is interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier.

The former Chelsea boss said this during a press conference earlier this weekend as he tries to strengthen his Napoli squad ahead of next season.

Carlo Ancelotti was the Chelsea manager for two seasons before he was sacked on the final weekend of the 2010/11 Premier League season.

The Italian tactician had earlier led the Blues to the Premier League title during the 2009/10 season.

Ancelotti is targeting a repeat in Napoli as he tries to end the dominance of Juventus in Italy.

Juventus have won the last eight league titles in the Italian top flight and Napoli have been the nearest challengers in recent seasons.

Carlo Ancelotti revealed that Napoli are interested in signing Trippier as well as Chelsea-linked player Hirving Lozano.

The wife of Kieran Trippier was recently spotted in Naples to further strengthen claims that her footballer husband will move to Napoli at the end of this season.

The former Burnley right-back has not had the best seasons this term after performing well for the Three Lions of England at last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Kieran Trippier and England were piped to third place by Belgium as they finished in fourth spot at the end of the tournament.
