Apart from being superb on the pitch, Chelsea’s management also has some of the best brains working off the pitch.
This is evident in the manner the loan system works at Chelsea. The club recruits young players for little fees and then send them on loan so as to make them grow and develop.
By so doing, the players evolves to professionals that could be promoted into the first team (like Thibaut Courtois), or sold for a high amount that brings high profits.
Ghanaian youngster Christian Atsu bought by Chelsea and sent to a couple of clubs on loan – both in England and beyond. He has been to Everton, then Bournemouth, before moving to Malaga in Spain.
He spent the 2016/17 season on loan with Newcastle at the Championship side and helped them finished among the newly promoted clubs that will play in the premier league table next season. The talented striker scored 5 times and provided 3 assists this term to impress his Spanish manager Rafael Benitez.
Right now, Chelsea has confirmed on their official website that Atsu has joined the Magpies on a permanent deal.
This is a great one for Christian himself as he now has the opportunity to play in the English top flight with regular playing time.
