According to The Mirror, Manchester United are set to rival Champions Chelsea for Juventus defender Alex Sandro.
The United boss has struggled to find a natural performer at that position all season, a situation that’s becoming a big issue for the tactician.
To find a lasting solution, it seems he’s prepared to go to ‘war’ with his former club Chelsea in the market once more, after winning the transfer race to sign Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku last summer transfer window.
The Mirror state that the Portuguese has identified Brazil international left-back Alex Sandro as the player to solve their left flank problem and is urging the club’s Chief to pay Juventus’ £53million asking price of the player.
Undoubtedly, the Brazilian full-back is one of the best left-backs in European football at the moment, helping the Serie A champions reach the UEFA Champions League final last campaign, playing in 11 games all along.
With an attacking instinct, he would perfectly fit into United’s set up and give them fresh width on the left flank that can help tear defences apart.
The defender is undoubtedly a born winner too, having won nine honours in three countries. If Jose Mourinho is to return United to the glory days when he needs a player like that in his squad.
