Nemanja Matic

Chelsea have reportedly slapped a €45 million on Manchester United target Nemanja Matic while Juventus circle on a potential deal.

The Bosnian midfielder has been tipped to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after being frozen out of Antonio Conte’s plans at Chelsea.

Manchester United are believed to be monitoring his situation as Jose Mourinho scouts the transfer market for a central midfielder that will consolidate the efforts of Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera next season.

However, Chelsea are understood to have changed the stance on selling Matic to United after the Red Devils hijacked their move for Romelu Lukaku.

Juventus are also said to be interested in the midfielder but are reluctant to meet Chelsea’s valuation.

Reports in the  Corriere dello Sport have it that a meeting between Matic’s agent and Juventus took place in London earlier this week after the midfielder was omitted from their preseason tour squad.

The Italian champions are said to have moved targets and will now be focusing on signing Liverpool midfielder Emre Can instead.

Nemanja Matic who has been an integral part of the Chelsea squad, is understood to be open to a Juventus move after his desired move to Manchester United stalled.

It has also emerged that Jose Mourinho told Ed Woodward to sign a third player this summer as he looks to better his team’s performances next season.
