According to reports, Premier League Champions Chelsea are allegedly prepared to submit a shock bid for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window.
Antonio Conte is keen to sign the Frenchman to create more competition in his attack, as per a report by Don Balon.
The striker was linked with a transfer away from the north London club over the summer with Everton named as a possible destination, although a move to Goodison park ultimately failed to materialize.
Chelsea have only two main strikers in Spain international Alvaro Morata and Belgium international Michy Batshuayi, and Blues’ boss Antonio Conte is thought to be eager to reinforce his options in attack.
The Ex Montpelier forward is not the only forward the Gunners could lose in the New year, with recent reprts claiming that Premier League rivals Manchester City may table a new bid for Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez when the January transfer window opens next year.
Meanwhile, England international midfielder Jack Wilshere reportedly turned down a new deal at the Emirates Stadium in the summer, and he is prepared to depart the North London club next summer.
As per The Sun, Arsenal were willing to hand the 25-year-old midfield maestro a new contract in the summer, but it was turned down by the Englishman who is still angry because he was sent out on loan to AFC Bournemouth last term.
