Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has expressed confidence over the Red Devil’s first outing at this year’s Champions League against Young Boys in Switzerland on Wednesday night.

He stated that the Jose Mourinho men will emerge victorious, no matter how challenging the game would be.

Both United and Mourinho have a history with the Champions League despite missing out on two seasons but they now look forward to bouncing back this season.

Berbatov despite being confident stated that the Swiss-based team should be taken seriously to avoid upset.

But he pointed his former side as the favourites in the game with victory expected at the end of the day.

According to him, United have the chance to qualify from the group stage with ease.

Manchester United are perceived to have bounced back after the 2-1 win against Watford on Saturday.

Anything less than a win for Mourinho will pile more pressure on the team and that could mean the beginning of his end at the club.

With the Premier League already looking too competitive, the Red Devils hope to spread their chances with the Champions League challenge.

Although United legend, Rio Ferdinand has ruled out his former side from winning the European competition.
