Premier League title contenders Liverpool have been in the spotlight as a result of the quality they possess in the midfield.
It has been suggested that the midfield department is the weak link for the Reds in their bid to rival Premier League champions Manchester City for the league title and also improve on the final appearance they made in last season’s Champions League.
The perceived weak midfield could be set to change following the news that Liverpool are interested in a move for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele ahead of the mid-season transfer window scheduled to begin as from the 1st of January.
Ndombele is widely regarded as one of the most exciting midfield prospects on the European football stage.
- Former Arsenal boss Wenger already ‘in talks’
- Arsenal might lose one of its most interesting midfielder
He has been in impressive form for Lyon in both the Champions League and the French Ligue 1.
His performances earned him an invitation to the French national team setup.
Ndombele made his debut for France in the international friendly with fellow Europeans Iceland in October.
The game between the two countries ended 2-2.
Liverpool will have to fend off other interested clubs in their pursuit of the 21-year-old.
Apart from the Reds, other European heavyweights like Manchester City and Arsenal have been linked with him.
