Chelsea prepare SHOCK move for prolific 121-goal striker

According to reports emanating from Italy, FA Cup winners Chelsea are set to rival Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain to land Gonzalo Higuain.

Chelsea want to replace Morata with Higuain

Italian media publication Tuttosport, as cited by talkSPORT, is claiming that Chelsea are keen on a potential transfer deal to land the Juventus prolific striker.

The same report says that the Blues have been placed on red alert after the Serie A champions expressed a desire to offload the South American striker this summer transfer window.

As per the same article, the reigning Serie A champions want to offload the Argentine international considering the forward is 30 and entering the end of his career.

The South American has won two Italian Serie A crowns and two Coppa Italia honours in Turin since his switch from Napoli back in 2016.

Highly experienced striker

The striker comes with a lot of experience having spent seven years at La Liga side Real Madrid before his transfer to Naples.

Higuain won three Spanish La Liga titles and the Spanish Copa del Rey during his stint at Santiago Bernabeu and netted 121 goals in 264 matches across all competitions for Real Madrid.

The 30-year-old striker was part of the Argentine squad that lost 1-0 to World Champions Germany in the FIFA World Cup final in Brazil back in 2014.
