Arsenal fans are used to being linked to Julian Draxler as the Left footed german winger has always been linked to Arsenal long before the winger left Schalke 04 for Wolfsburg FC.
Draxler was close to quitting the german club amidst strong interest from Arsenal as well as a couple of clubs.
The player hasn’t scored a goal for Wolfsburg this season and appears to be switched off at the German outfit prompting sports director Klaus Allofs admitting maybe the club would have been better off letting him go last season.
Popular German tabloid Kicker quoted him as saying “We would now assess the situation differently, and it may be that we would do it differently next time and let him leave.
Perhaps. History has not helped him nor VfL,” suggesting Wolfsburg would have a softer resolve holding on to him as they did the last term.
Arsenal remain front-runners to sign the star player and Emirates would be a seemingly perfect destination for him considering the presence of his countrymen Mesut Ozil, Per Mertasacker and Shkodran Mustafi.
The only other club with serious interest mentioned in the media is PSG and Arsenal stands a greater chance of landing the fleet-footed German if they lodged a bid.
It remains to be seen if Arsene Wenger will make a bid in January while a winter transfer has been mooted
