With just a month and few days to the opening of January transfer window, rumours concerning player transfers have intensified and latest of such rumour is the of linking Chelsea defensive midfielder John Obi Mikel to Manchester United.
According to report from the Sun, Chelsea former boss Jose Mourinho is ready to have a reunion with his former player at Old Trafford.
Mourinho team has been on poor form this season and the Portuguese boss is facing an up-hill task of turn things around.
Mikel has failed to make a single appearance for the Blues this season. It is reported that the Nigerian international is not in good term with Antonio Conte, after he allegedly turn down Conte’s request to feature for the Blues during pre-season for the Olympic game with his national team.
Chelsea may actually accept offers for the player since he has less than a year contract with them, and they will not be receiving any fee should he leave as a free agent at the end of the season.
The 29-years old Nigerian international moved to Chelsea in 2006 from Lyn Oslo in a controversial deal involving the Norwegian club, Chelsea and English rival Manchester United
However, it is yet to been seen whether Manchester United fans will welcome the 29-years old star wholeheartedly after he rejected a move to Old Trafford for Chelsea in 2006.
