Chelsea are allegedly on the verge of landing Roma defender Emerson Palmieri, as it’s suggested in Italy he has agreed to terms with the Premier League Champions.
The 23-year-old left back joined Roma back in 2015 having formerly broken through in Santos, going on to play 47 matches for the Giallorossi.
The defender has yet to return to complete match fitness and top shape after sustaining a serious knee problem last campaign, but according to reports, that has not been enough to discourage Chelsea as personal contract terms have reportedly been agreed between the two camps.
It’s claimed that the Brazilian will sign a four-year contract worth €2.5m every year without bonuses, although transfer fee has not been agreed upon just yet as while the Blues have tabled a €20million bid, it’s claimed still €5million short of AS Roma’s demands.
In turn, we’ll have to wait and see whether or not that obstacle can be overcome, but it seems the full-back is all ready to put pen to paper for Premier League Champions Chelsea.
His arrival at Chelsea would be important for manager Antonio Conte, as the tactician currently has a problem of lack of adequate cover in the left-back or wing-back role.
